Kate Pollard
My name is Kate Pollard. I have always enjoyed painting and after leaving school, I began training at Art College. However, half way through the first year I became a Christian and God called me down a different path. Several years ago, I felt Him challenge me to start painting again but to approach it without worrying about the result, just to enjoy the process. The inspiration was Genesis 1, where God spoke and created the world. I felt that, in response to that, I wanted to include words on my paintings because from the spoken word, creative things emerge. There is such power in words as well as images. My paintings are part of my journey, and as such, tell my personal story. But I think they also speak to others, on their own journey with God. I use my dreams and visions as inspiration for much of my work. I now exhibit my work locally and occasionally teach in a school on the topic of prophetic art.
